2-Month-Old Baby Dies After Testing Positive for Heroin, Having Injection Marks

A two-month – old girl who tested positive for heroin died last weekend after being found unresponsive at a West Texas home with injection marks, police said Thursday.

Police in San Angelo said Brixlee Marie Lee died at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth on Tuesday.

Police said Thursday that after responding to a call of an unconscious child, officers rushed Brixlee to a San Angelo hospital Saturday.

Injection marks on her limbs and head were found by hospital workers and her urine tested positive for heroin, police said.

She was transferred to Cook Children’s later that day, where she stayed on life support until she was pronounced dead.

The mother of the baby, Destiney Harbour, 21, and her mother, Christin Bradley, 37, and Bradley ‘s boyfriend, Dustin Smock, 34, were arrested Saturday, police said.

All three have been charged with causing a child to suffer serious bodily injury.

Police state that the investigation is underway and that the body of Brixlee was sent for an autopsy.
