Oreo Is Releasing Limited Edition Rainbow Cookies In Support Of LGBTQ+ Community

To illustrate the snack-maker ‘s support for LGBTQ+ History Month, Oreo has launched a limited edition rainbow coloured cookie.

The cookies were released alongside a short film called Proud Parent as part of the brand ‘s collaboration with PFLAG National-which operates on a variety of projects supporting allyship.

The touching part of film focuses on the love between two women, Amy and Jen.

It explores the relationship between them and highlights the difficulties faced by members of the LGBTQ+ community when their spouse is brought home to meet the family.

The moving storey reveals, with very little dialogue, Jen and her relationship with her dad. You watch the progress of the in-laws’ meeting, with both of them giving Jen’s proud father a big hug at the end.

The Oreo website reads: “The film shows the love between Jen and Amy, exploring parent-child relationships and the challenges of bringing a partner home for the first time – especially for the LGBTQ+ community. The film highlights the true importance of family love, support, and affirmation.”

The cookies themselves are not available in stores. If you live in the US, they are up for grabs on Twitter, where you can join a competition to get your hands on a packet.
