Swoop maps warning Australians of aggressive magpies whereabouts

The Victorians have begun to feel the wrath of territorial swooping magpies with spring well underway.

But while many are terrified of only the sight of one of the ‘predators’, the Victorian government claims they won’t all swoop.

The government has released an interactive map showing each reported swoop across the state this season, to help residents find out where the particularly aggressive birds are.

On Patterson Road in Bentleigh, Bulli Street in Moorabbin, Maribyrnong Road in Ascot Vale and at Albert Park Lake, according to the notes, there are especially angry magpies.

One individual said that on Linton Street in Balaclava, there was a particularly bad bird.

Another said they were swooped twice and clipped on September 21 just above the eye on the play equipment at Elwood Park Reserve.

The map is available for viewing here.
