After a gift from her husband turned into a $4 million Lotto windfall, a Melbourne mother has got the “best birthday present ever”
The Victorian player, in Saturday’s $20 million Superdraw at TattsLotto, was one of five division one winning entries nationwide.
Every winning Division one entry took home a $4 million bonus. In addition to scoring one reward for the coveted division, the satisfied winner also scored six in division raising her total prize to $4,000,013.20.
The happy mum, who wants to remain anonymous, said the ticket had been given as a birthday gift.
“We don’t play that often, but on a whim (my husband) went into the store and got me this ticket. He must have been in the right place at the right time,” she said.
“When he gave it to me he said ‘This ticket will make you happy’ as a joke. So I handed it back to him on Sunday and said ‘Happy Father’s Day to you honey, this ticket will make you very happy too.’
“We work really hard for our money, so this will go a long way.”
The Victoria woman said the news is only started to sink in, as when she originally checked the results last night she thought she had won just $13.
