Victorians must be “really careful” to ensure that water in those areas impacted by potential source pollution is brought to a full boil, Premier Daniel Andrews has said.
Mr Andrews said that for all purposes, including making ice, cooking and cleaning foods, people needed to ensure water was thoroughly boiled.
Filtration systems problems came after a severe storm which meant that more than 100 postcodes were cut off from safe drinking water.
Mr Andrews said the number of suburbs affected was “coming down.”
The Victorian Government has reported water quality was safe in Bayswater, Belgrave, Belgrave Heights, Belgrave South, Boronia, Ferntree Gully, Knoxfield, Lysterfield, Selby, Tecoma, The Basin, Tremont, Upper Ferntree Gully, Upwey and Wantirna, was safe.
