2020 was already already a test year, but now NASA has flagged an asteroid zooming towards us.
According to the Center for Near Earth Objects Studies at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the celestial body identified as 2018VP1 is expected to come near Earth on November 2.
A day ahead of the US presidential race.
The object, which according to NASA ‘s data has a diameter of 0.002 km, was first found in 2018 at the Palomar Observatory in California.
NASA claims there are three possible impacts, but the organisation has decided that “based on 21 observations spanning 12,968 days,” the asteroid probably won’t have a significant effect, let alone bring Armageddon. Phew. The chance of it hitting the earth is just 0.41 per cent, data shows.
