Bondi’s iconic coastal walk has been covered in vulgar graffiti by vandals who used a can of spray paint to deface the path alongside the world famous beach.
The picturesque destination of choice for thousands every weekend was vandalised on Tuesday night, much to the shock of fitness fanatics in the popular Sydney area.
Photos posted to a Facebook group showing the widespread graffiti caused outrage among locals who hit out at the vandals, calling the act everything from ‘disgusting’ to ‘horrible’.
Angry locals commented on a post in the group slamming the vandals and calling for more respect for the stunning area.
‘I don’t even know nor care what it says. You don’t destroy the beauty of the coastal walk,’ one woman wrote.
‘I have been walking this walk for 25 years and this is the first time I’ve seen such a calibre of stupidity,’ another commented.
‘Idiots – but at least they didn’t touch the sandstone,’ one man commented.
The iconic walk has become increasingly popular with fitness fanatics and a popular spot for Instagram photos and social media users in recent years.
An Eastern Suburbs LAC spokesperson said there had yet to be a report made about the crime.
